Music Supervision: The Final Frontier
In a far-off parallel universe, there’s a reality in which our library doesn’t have the perfect track for every job. Obviously that would never happen in this timeline, but in honor of that other, less fortunate dimension, we’ve broadened our horizons.
We’re over the moon to add Music Supervision to our list of services. Despite the talent of our composers and the variety in our library, we know how valuable a pre-existing popular song can be in an ad or story. While we do make exclusively excellent music, we accept that excellent music is not exclusively made by us.
Need rights for a re-record? Want to license a mega hit? Can’t find the perfect sync?
Look no further.
Our Process
As much as we’d love to spend all day talking music, we know that music has different roles in every production. Our process begins by understanding exactly what that role is; does the track need to blend into the background, or does it need to be at the forefront of the piece, propelling the story?
From there, we consider all options that not only meet the creative goals, but also fit into the logistical puzzle. Does it make sense to license a pre-existing track? What about custom score? Would a library track work? This is where the fun begins.
Whether it’s a completely custom-made score, a license for a hit song, or a library track to fit in as background music, we will take it too far. It’s an obsession. Our therapist said we should take it easy, but that’s no fun. We know that music can transform a project. And it’s not just getting the right vibe, it’s a chance to connect with your target audience. It provides an opportunity to align your campaign with your target market.

Angi That: A Case Study
When we opened our doors to the world of Music Supervision, the first project came from our friends at Milk Agency. They had a very tricky assignment and they knew music would be the key to its success.
The agency was tasked with building awareness and trust for a re-branded company called Angi (formerly known as Angie’s List). The mission: Turn “Angi” into an everyday verb.
A little wordplay went a long way for the brand and we were able to help the agency leverage the song’s pre-existing cultural status to benefit the client’s branding and marketing needs. Read the full case study below.
Give us a shout.
And by shout we mean it, we’ve got the tunes cranked!
